Generated objects

• Specification of information required to generate the text is represented by a generated-object
• DSSSL provides a fixed set of ways of creating generated-objects
• Not possible to navigate arbitrarily area tree to acquire information
• The required information is represented as an object in the expression language: called the kernel of the generated-object
• Kernel of generated-object only accessible in creation of content of indirect flow object
